Contentious Weblog has taken a stand:

AMY'S NEW RULE: From now on, as of this entry, CONTENTIOUS will no longer capitalize the words web, net, or internet.

Hooray for taking that stand. I'm not ready to go down that road yet, though. I suffer from a little unwillingness to look like I don't know the current capitalization rules. But as soon as uncapitalized web, net, and internet look professional, I'll join the evolution.
