You've seen these self-indulgent "100 things about me" posts, haven't you? (There are a lot of them.) I just skimmed Tokitikki's and her number 100 ("I’m glad I sat down to write these things. In comparison to my list from four years ago, I’ve come a long way.") has me wondering if maybe I shouldn't create a list for myself. And by that I mean for myself. I would post it here so you could skim it, but I would list 100 things about myself so that, a year from now, I could do it again and compare. It's going to take some time, but KR is driving to Santa Fe next week and I'll have some free time for doing self-indulgent stuff like listing 100 things about myself.

who's that guy?

The other day Ze Frank, who is winding up The Show, the only video blog worth watching every day, featured a bearded guy playing awesome covers of Ze's songs. Who's that guy?

Today I happened to click to The Merlin Show at 43 Folders, which featured a bearded guy talking about becoming a "true person." Hey, isn't that the guy from Ze's Show?

The Show kindly links to the guy's site. He is a singer-songwriter named, it seems, Jonathan Coulton. From his site you can listen to and buy his music. While poking around in his podcast archives I see that he's the creator of the Flickr video, which is one of the best things ever put on the internet. Turns out I posted the video to the Caleb Walker short bits over a year ago.

another love note

Yesterday, Nico woke up in his flat in Split Croatia. On his closet door was a map created by his girlfriend, Andrea. The map showed different places for Nico to look as [he] took his usual route from his apartment to the academy where he studies.

What Nico found was an elaborate love poem done on the streets of Split by Andrea. She had put up stencils, paint, aerosol, collage wheat pastes etc. with last piece reading…. “i love you”.
